Sanyo M1 Preview

The Sanyo M1 - due by December - is the successor to the "legendary" Sanyo 9000. The most obvious change is the sleek new design, Stereo Speakers, and external "Scroll Wheel". Under the hood, we have an extremely generous 1GB of internal memory (the most of any phone currently available in the U.S.), QVGA display, Power Vision (EVDO), Bluetooth, 2-Megapixel Camera, ReadyLink, and support for downloadable "Themes". This could have been the perfect phone, but once again, Sprint/Sanyo skimped on one vital feature - a mini/microSD slot.

While it is true that the M1 has a Gig of memory built in, mini/microSD cards are capaple of holding up to 2GB's. Worse still, every time you want to add files to the phone, you have to have the phone with you, and use a proprietary USB cable.

Ultimately, the M1 will be a great phone, but the lack of an SD card slot stops it from reaching perfection.

It's still another long, cold month until the Nintendo Wii is released on November 19th, to further tease us Target has put up Endcaps today with Wii accessories available for purchase. All of the accessories are marked at $25 and include: a metal dog tag and pin set, 4 pack of Wii remote gloves in assorted colors with lanyards, sling bags, a disc case and organizer set (which holds the Wii, remotes, and game cases vertically), and a metal case with Wii related magnets.

According to engadget, Verizon Wireless will be getting a CDMA version of the Motorola RAZR MAXX in the first quarter of 2007. This V CAST enabled phone features a:

  • Internal QVGA LCD display.
  • Very large external LCD.
  • 2-Megapixel camera.
  • microSD card slot.
  • Sleek, stylish form factor.
It's a shame such a potentially great phone will probably be ravaged with Verizon's UI, BREW, and crippled Bluetooth. Here's hoping for a future release on Sprint or Alltel!
